Teacher shot dead by Maoists

Continuing with their killing spree,Maoists shot dead a school teacher early on Monday at Nayagram in West Midnapore district.

The victim,has been identified as Kalipada Mahato (45),a resident of Choto Khakri village. Mahato — a teacher of Kadamdiha Primary School — was also a CPM local leader. Manoj Verma,Superintendent of Police,West Midnapore,said: “Kalipada Mahato was picked up from his residence late at night and later shot dead.The body was found today.”

Around 38 teachers of different schools have been killed by Maoists in West Midnapore in the last one year.
