‘You created a monster, now it’s biting you back’: Suvendu Adhikari hits out at TMC after 2 MLAs attacked

Just two weeks before the bypoll in the Haroa constituency of the state’s North 24 Parganas district, TMC MLAs Sukumar Mahato (Sandeshkhali) and Usharani Mondal (Minakhan) were attacked while they were returning from attending Kali Pujo inauguration programmes.

Referring to “riotous elements” in the TMC, Adhikari said, “They extend full electoral support to the TMC Party and in exchange they go scot free after targeting the majority community at will. They vandalise idols, create ruckus at the religious events of the Sanatanis, disrupt rituals, violently attack religious processions.”

“The Police & Administration remain mute spectators as because these elements are associated with the ruling TMC Party and they are weaponized against the Opposition, especially during the time of election. But as they say, what goes around comes around. Now things are starting to get out of control,” he added in the post.

“These riotous elements have started to target the Hindu MLAs of the TMC Party. In two separate incidents, two TMC MLAs were targeted by their rampageous party ‘colleagues’ on Thursday night: Name of MLAs and name of the assailants:- # Smt. Usha Rani Mondal; MLA of Minakhan attacked by Abdul Khalek Molla and gang. # Sri Sukumar Mahato; MLA of Sandeshkhali attacked by Abdul Kader Molla (close associate of Sheikh Shahjahan) and gang. Both the MLAs were coming back home after attending inauguration ceremony of Kali Puja Pandals. The People of WB must realize that a grave catastrophe is awaiting and only BJP can tame the demon and put it back in the bottle,” Adhikari further alleged.
