With the Election Commission deciding not to air its poll awareness advertisement featuring Sourav Ganguly following allegations about his proximity to CPM,the former Indian skipper has expressed his desire to talk with the poll panel and sort out the matter.
Sourav Ganguly has expressed his desire to talk with the Election Commission on the issue, said Dibendu Sarkar,Joint Chief Electoral Officer (Bengal) in Kolkata on Monday. He added that the EC too is keen to talk with him. Akhay Rauth,DG (EC) is expected to reach Kolkata on Tuesday and could talk to the cricketer. Meanwhile,the EC is planning to air advertisement featuring current Indian skipper M S Dhoni and former President A P J Abul Kalam in Bengal,if Gangulys promo gets scrapped dropped. The promo featuring Bikram Ghosh,which was shot for the Bengal polls,is likely to go on air by April 7.
Buddha to file his nomination papers today
Kolkata: Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will file his nomination for Jadavpur assembly segment on Tuesday at SDO office of Alipore. Former Chief Secretary of Bengal Manish Gupta is to contest against the CM from this constituency.
