No headway was made at the tripartite meeting on reopening the Sahaganj unit of Ruia-owned Dunlop Industries Limited as the workers remained firm on their stand on dues. At the meeting at New Secretariat, the state government was represented by a special secretary official of the labour department. The Dunlop authorities refused comment on the meeting. Inttuc leader Dola Sen said the conducive environment required to reopen the unit had not been created as the management had not cleared the dues of the employees. The plant has more than 700 employees, and most of them have not got their salaries for more than three months.
