Question Didi, she should come clean: Mishra

Those named by arrested Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, including the Chief Minister must be interrogated: Surya Kanta Mishra

Leader of the Opposition Surya Kanta Mishra Wednesday said those named by arrested Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh, including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, must be interrogated in the Saradha scam.

Ghosh’s outburst on a video CD,recorded before his arrest Saturday in which he mentioned names of top TMC leaders, including the CM and party general secretary Mukul Roy,was aired by a local TV channel Tuesday.

“It is only proper for the state government when such allegations have surfaced they should be interrogated. If she (Mamata Banerjee) is the symbol of honesty then what she is scared of ?” Mishra said.

“Why the CM alone? Each of those named by Ghosh should be questioned and if required, any of them could be arrested,” he added.

“We are not demanding her resignation, but she should come clean,” Mishra said adding,“There should not be two rules for different groups of people in a single crime. If the Chief Minister of Karnataka or Union ministers could be arrested, what is the problem here?”

Top CPM leaders Wednesday demanded that all persons, whose name were mentioned in the video tape recorded by Kunal Ghosh be interrogated.

On the need for a CBI inquiry in the case,Mishra said,“We have demanded a CBI probe monitored by the Supreme Court in the Saradha scam and we have appealed to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee and Finance Minister P Chidambaram in this regard.”
