Party turns sour,two get bullets

While Vishal Agarwal was hit on his left thigh,Shakil was hit in the abdomen. Vishal,DJ of a discotheque in Salt Lake,has been admitted in a private nursing home in Shyambazar and is said to be out of danger while Shakil,a businessman,is still in a critical condition.

On Saturday night,the duo and their eight other friends were clubbing at a Salt Lake discotheque when a scuffle broke out with another group.

The girls present in the duo’s group were allegedly teased by the members of the other group who are yet to be identified.

Thereafter,the duo and their friends went to Ginger restaurant at Bhawanipore and around 4.30 am they went to Azad Hind restaurant at Ballygunge Circular Road.

Around 5.30 am,Vishal and Shakil came out of the restaurant when they were shot by two motorcycle-borne miscreants.

Initially,they were taken to Chittaranjan Hospital. Vishal was later taken to a nursing home in Shyambazar while Shakil was taken to a hospital in Salt Lake.

“We were partying at Salt Lake when a scuffle broke out between the two groups. We tried negotiating with them but they had left by that time. They must have targeted us,” said Vishal from a nursing home in Shyambazar.

“There were two people on the motorcycle when the pillion rider suddenly opened fire and fled,” added Vishal.

The police are yet to make any arrest in the case. According to the police,the case has been lodged at Ballygunge police station under Section 307,34 of IPC and Section 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.
