There has been no breakthrough in the investigation of five dead bodies of a family which were found in Demusna village in Bankura on Tuesday. Police have, however, not given a clean chit to the sole surviving member of the family,Sadhan Ghosh.
According to police,Sadhan found the dead members of his family his father, mother, wife and two sons on early Tuesday morning when he returned home after spending the night in the fields. Sadhan, who fainted after seeing the body, was admitted to Raipur hospital.
We have not made any arrests so far,as the investigation is still going on. We still do not have any suspects, said Anurag Srivastav,BDO,Raipur.
Bankura Superintendent of Police Vishal Garg said the preliminary investigations into the incident have revealed that differences between the family and other relatives might have led to the murder. Initial investigations have revealed there was some kind of a disagreement between the family members and relatives. We think that the person who committed the crime was close to the family and differences with him might have led to the gruesome act, said Garg.
Police sources said that while bodies of Sadhans wife, mother and father had bloodstains on them; the children had been throttled to death. Police have also not ruled out the involvement of locals in the murder.
Villagers said that Sadhan had lost his business and had sunk into debt. He had of late started working in the fields.
