Left front and the Congress are peeved at the state government for not placing the CAG report in the Assembly for the last two years. The report highlights the income and expenditure incurred by the government. While Gujarat,Maharashtra,Assam,Orissa and Punjab have already placed the reports in their Assemblies for the last fiscal,Bengal government last tabled the CAG report in the state assembly in 2010-11. I heard the CAG had sent the report of 2011-12 and it is lying in the finance department. It is baffling the government has not tabled the report. They removed me from the post of chairman,public accounts committee,so that I dont put any pressure. This government claims it is transparent,but it has not cared to place the report, Anisur Rehman,deputy leader of the Left Front legislature party, told The Indian Express. Congress leader,Manas Bhuniya said: Mamata projects herself to be an embodiment of honesty. Why is she not placing the report? What is she trying to hide? It is a serious matter and we demand the government place the report in the next session.
