(Representational Image)The state weather department on Tuesday said no significant change is expected in the minimum and maximum temperatures in Kolkata in the last week of 2023.
On Tuesday morning, the maximum temperature in Kolkata was recorded as 25 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 17 degrees Celsius – two degrees above normal.
On Monday, the minimum temperature in the state capital was 16.9 degrees Celsius.

The weather office said while the temperature levels are likely to remain stable over the next few days in Kolkata, some districts in south and north Bengal may experience morning fog. Officials also predicted higher temperatures in the northern and western parts of the state. There is no chance of rain in north Bengal.
“The air entering the state through the Bay of Bengal has more water vapour. On the other hand, the dry north-westerly winds are comparatively weaker. As a result, the weather in the state is ‘warmer’ than normal. Temperatures in Kolkata and surrounding areas are at least 2 to 3 degrees higher,” said an official.
