The Saradha scam had its fallout on the Press accreditation committee of Department of Information and Culture which was recently reconstituted. Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh,who also doubles as the CEO of news channel Channel 10,was dropped from the committee after his name surfaced in the scam. The high-profile journalist is not much seen in public these days either. The last time he was seen was at a meeting of party MPs at the Writers’ Buildings.

Going vote-less

Amid reports of panchayat seats having been won uncontested by Trinamool candidates,news of an interesting development that took place at Labhpur block in Birbhum district came. There all the seats of the gram panchayat,panchayat samity and even zilla parishad have been won uncontested by Trinamool. So no voting will take place there.

Didi’s new Singer

Is noted singer Indranil Sen going to take the place of another noted singer Kabir Suman in the Trinamool Congress? Suman,who won from Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency four years ago on a Trinamool ticket,is now a rebel and has become a bete noire of party chief Mamata Banerjee. Sen,on the other hand,these days is often seen accompanying the Mamata to her campaign trips to villages. Sen is also seen at the Writers’ Buildings,too,either chatting with Atri Bhattacharya,Secretary for Information and Culture,or at the Chief Minister’s Office. Why does the singer spend so much of his time at the corridors of power,people can’t resist asking.
