Didi’s bundle of energy a mystery

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee seems to be a medical puzzle. People wonder how can a person who works for a minimum of 16-17 hours a day can get so much energy by eating so little. The chief minister,who regularly exercises in the morning,has only tea,biscuits and muri (puffed rice) all through the day. It is only during dinner that she has a proper meal like chapati,subji,daal or fish curry. Insiders say she has not eaten rice for the last 10 years.

Chief Secretary Samar Ghosh has banned gathering of journalists at his office and Home Secretary G D Gautama has banned the entry of scribes in his room. Special Secretary (Home) A G Ghosh has also banned journalists in his office. But Special Secretary Ghosh allegedly holds press conferences at his chamber every day with a few of his favourite journalists. People wonder if he has special sanction from his bosses.

Sometimes Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee surprises everyone by her statements. The latest occasion was early this week when the Presidency Mentor Group submitted the first set of recommendations to the chief minister. Speaking to reporters,the chief minister said she had heard that Jadavpur University will become a central university. She later tried to clarify,saying that she was just referring to ‘media reports’. But such words coming from the mouth of the chief minister are clearly surprising.
