Jan 23 to be observed as Desh Prem Divas

West Bengal government has given its consent to the proposal to observe January 23,the birth anniversary of of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose,as ‘Desh Prem Divas’.

West Bengal government has given its consent to the proposal to observe January 23,the birth anniversary of of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose,as ‘Desh Prem Divas’.

Ashok Ghosh,the secretary of West Bengal Forward Bloc,said the government has agreed to observe January 23 as ‘Desh Prem Divas’ and urged the Centre should also accept their demand.

The decision on the matter was taken at the Left Front meeting on January 12. Barun Mukherjee,Rajya Sabha MP of Forward bloc,said the chief minister has given its consent and assured to take up the issue in the next Cabinet meeting. The declaration of January 23 as ‘Desh Prem Divas’ is a long-standing demand of the All India Forward Bloc,a constituent of the Left Front in West Bengal.
