Three persons were killed in firing by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Paharpara outpost in Murshidabad district early on Wednesday. B L Meena,Superintendent of Police,Murshidabad,said the district police have started an inquiry into the circumstances of the firing by BSF personnel. According to a source,the BSF opened fire after detecting cattle trafficking on the Bangladesh border at Paharpara. Three persons were killed on the spot but the police did not disclose their names. The police took the bodies to Lalbag for post mortem. Meena refused to disclose how many rounds were fired by the BSF.

HC order on RTI plea by IPS officer
The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday directed the West Bengal State Information Commission to dispose of the second appeal filed by Akhil Kumar Roy,an IPS officer,regarding an information relating to the vigilance commission,within 45 days.
