The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Ramesh Bhattacharjee who had visited La Martiniere for Boys posing as an HRD official after a complaint was filed by Ajay Rawla,father of Class VIII student Rauvanjit Rawla,against the school.
On June 23,three persons led by Bhattacharjee,who is a member of the Rastriya Sanskrit Parishad,came to the school and sought a report from the school on the Rouvanjit issue.
After the trio visited the school,Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal denied sending any team to the school. Later the ministry faxed a complaint to the office of Commissioner of Kolkata Police and a complaint was lodged at the Shakespeare Sarani police station.
Following the complaint Bhattacharjee filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Calcutta High Court in the first week of July.
