Demanding a time-frame for the exchange of the enclaves,members of the Indo-Bangladesh Enclaves Coordination Committee will hold agitations and demonstrations in both countries from September 23 to October 2.
Committee members have also threatened to start an indefinite hunger strike after Durga puja if the government does not pay heed to their demands.
After the exchange deal was signed during the Prime Ministers recent visit to Bangladesh,the residents of enclaves said the government should set a time frame for the swap. They say even though three agreements were signed earlier,nothing was implemented.
After the recent agreement,the people of these places have again started dreaming. Now they want a specific date on which the enclaves will be officially exchanged and the residents will get citizenship, said Diptiman Sengupta,secretary of the committee on Thursday. ENS
