Vowing to restore strict discipline down to the partys booth level,Trinamool core committee on Saturday decided that the subject of campaign to be painted in posters and placards would not be decided by the partys lower level leaders any more.
Instead, the language and the subject of campaign in the run-up to the observance of 21 July martyrs rally would be decided by the partys central leadership. The decision was taken at the partys core committee meeting held at the partys Tiljala headquarters today.
Printing names of local level leaders in posters and banners is a common phenomenon in the Trinamool Congress. It was often found that objectionable language was used in campaign materials. Ever since the party has come to power, people are closely watching its activities and that of its leaders, strict discipline, therefore, need to be enforced down to the partys rank and file, the senior leaders observed.
The party has also decided to shift the venue of 21 July rally from Brigade Parade Ground to Esplanade apprehending weather adversities. The campaign against alleged slandering campaign of the CPI-M against the state government will also be intensified.
A set of guidelines about campaigning for the governments welfare schemes will be issued to the party workers. The party would observe the martyr rally at each block and district on July 21.
Trinamool secretary general and state industry minister Partha Chatterjee said the government has agreed in principle to send an all-party delegation to Delhi with the objective to convince the Centre to grant moratorium to the state government on payment of interest on loan borrowed during Left regime.
