CPM expels two senior leaders

The CPM today expelled two of its senior leaders in North 24-Parganas district.

The CPM expelled two of its senior leaders in North 24-Parganas district.

Following a meeting held at CPM state headquarters at Alimuddin Street,state secretary Biman Bose said Kalyan Mukherjee of Khardah and Ranjit Das of Baranagar have been involved in immoral activities and broke the party’s code of conduct,which is imposed on every party member.

Both the leaders were very influential in the North 24-Parganas district. CPM sources claimed that both the leaders have used party position for their personal benefits. They have been making money for years with the backing from senior party leaders. Since the party is going through rectification process,action has been taken against these two leaders.

“In their respective localities,they were in charge of party affairs,but the party had received many complaints against them. After a thorough inquiry conducted by a high-level party committee,we have decided to expel them,” said a senior leader.
