Getting a green signal from the party bosses, the Congress and its alliance partner Trinamool Congress are all set to take on the ruling Marxists on the floor of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

Opposition leaders today said they will raise the issue of law and order and failure of the state government in reducing prices of essential commodities. They will also urge the government to recover unlicensed arms stocked with CPM cadres across the state.

Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Partho Chatterjee said he will meet leader of Congress Legislative Party Manas Bhuniya and Congress chief whip Asit Mal for better floor coordination at the session to be held from tomorrow.

Bhuniya, meanwhile, said: “The state is passing through a miserable condition; police and general administration have been collapsed. This is a very crucial situation,so we have to work together. I appreciate the views of Chatterjee for a better floor coordination. But our role will be determined by the issues.”

Meanwhile, the ruling CPM is also ready with its strategy to divide the Opposition on the issue of Maoist activities in the South-West part of the state.

“In the House we will reveal the nexus between the Trinamool and the Maoists,” said Md Masih,Left Front chief whip.

Masih said: “We have reports from several parts of the state that the Trinamool,in connivance with the Maoists, has upset the peace and tranquility of the state. They have no moral right to raise law and order issue.”

Chatterjee, meanwhile, does not see any difficulty in facing the “allegations” of the CPM regarding their so-called involvement with the Maoists.

“We,on our part, will reply to the allegation. Our view is clear — in the three districts of West Midnapore,Bankura and Purulia they are Maoists, but for rest of the state they are Marxists; there is no difference between Maoists and Marxists,” he added.
