According to sources, the CM was returning to Kolkata after attending an administrative meeting in the Paschim Bardhaman district.”  Talking to reporters after the meeting, the CM said, “We were on the road when suddenly a car came speeding at 200 km/hour. I did not see the car. The driver suddenly applied the brakes and my head hit the dashboard.”

“I injured my forehead. I have a concussion and swelling also. But, I survived due to people’s blessings. I took a medicine. Now, I am going to my house,” she added. “At times, people misuse vehicles; as was the case when a person pretending to be a BSF jawan was caught outside my residence. The police are looking into today’s incident. I won’t comment on it further,” she said.

In June last year, the CM had injured her leg while she was returning from Jalpaiguri district in north Bengal.
