After being pulled by his teacher for deflating the tyre of his friend’s bicycle,14-year-old Ashrujit Bhowmick planned to run away from his home on Wednesday evening but was found near a dhaba in Bally in Howrah on Thursday, said police.

Bhowmick,a student of Class IX of Nischindapur Chittaranjan Boys High School in Howrah, was supposed to return home in Bally by 8 pm after attending coaching classes. But after he did not return home by 11 pm,his parents Santa Bhowmick and Namita Bhowmick lodged a missing complaint with the Bally police station.

Students said school authorities had threatened Ashrujit of expulsion and was asked to bring his parents to the school on Thursday.

The headmaster of the school,Pankaj Naskar, however denied the allegations and said the school is not responsible for his disappearance since he had left the school premises after the classes were over.

Police later found Ashrujit’s bicycle at his friend Arpan Dutta’s home in the same locality. According to Arpan,Ashrujit gave him his bicycle to keep. When he did not return,Arpan returned home with his cycle.
