A 15-year-old girl,who was allegedly kidnapped from Shantinagar (W) on Monday in Bally,was recovered from Kolkatas Girish Park area on Tuesday.
The girls family had filed a complaint with the police. She had been missing since 7 pm on Monday and her father put in a complaint at 10 pm, said D Sarkar,OC,Bally PS.
The girls father said he doubted a youth Nimesh Singh,who lived in Girish Park area,and often teased her daughter when she came to her uncles place. On Monday late night,her father came to Kolkata and filed a complaint against Nimesh at Girish Park police station. Officials of the Girish Park police station raided Nimeshs house and arrested his brother and father.
Police then called up Nimesh on his cell and by tracing his location,zeroed in on a place in Posta,where the girl was being held by 10 other youths. Police raided the place where nine of the youths fled. The girl was recovered and one of the boys were held.
Late into the night,the nine boys surrendered at Burrabazar police station and we brought them over here and later sent them over to Bally PS, said an official of Girish Park police station.
The girls father had,meanwhile,filed a kidnapping complaint against Nimesh at Bally police station and alleged that his minor daughter had been given a drink laced with sedatives and taken away. The 10 Nimesh Singh,Prince Jaiswal,Kabir Gupta,Nikhil Pandey,Nikhil Singh,Bidesh Singh,Radhyeshyam Yadav,Suresh Singh,Nitesh Singh and Nishan Singh were produced at the Howrah court today and were remanded in 14 days jail custody.
They were all friends of Nimesh and other than Suresh,who was 48 years old,they were all aged between 22 and 25 years. Police is also looking into a possibility of a love affair.
