An IndiGo flight was delayed by more than an hour and the aircraft was stuck on the tarmac after its co-pillot reportedly fell sick, in Kolkata on Sunday.

The Bagdogra-bound flight (IndiGo 6E-751) was scheduled to take off from the Netaji Subhas Chandra International Airport at 12.30 pm but it departed at 1.41 pm. The flight reached the Bagdogra International Airport at 2.43 pm.

“We had already boarded the flight. It was a full flight and all passengers had boarded. Suddenly, it was announced that the co-pilot had fallen sick. The passengers were informed that the airline was looking for someone to replace the co-pilot. We were told to stay seated while the aircraft was stuck at the tarmac,” said Anupama Singh, who was travelling in the flight.

Repeated calls to IndiGo officials went unanswered. An official of the airline claimed that the flight was delayed due to the “co-pilot’s absence”.
