2 months on,GTA’s fact-verification committee has ‘nothing to verify’

The committee said it had not received a single recommendation from any political party or organisations regarding their claims or objections vis-a-vis the Justice Sen report.

Manoj Agarwal,secretary of North Bengal Development department and head of the fact-verification committee,said,“In the last two months,we did not receive any formal recommendation with proper documents on the Justice Sen committee report. So we did not have anything to verify.”

A senior member of the GJM central committee admitted: “No documentation has been prepared till now. All the senior leaders are busy with their departments. They are not in the process of preparing any recommendation and submitting it to the committee on inclusion from Dooars and Terai into the GTA.”

GJM president Bimal Gurung said his party would submit all the documents and recommendations to the committee defending their claims on inclusion of 398 mouzas from the Terai and the Dooars region into the GTA.
