Two Maoists were arrested by security forces after an encounter at Lakhanpur forest near Rameswarpur village in Salboni this afternoon. On Sunday,three CPM activists had been killed in the area allegedly by Maoists.

Mirza Khaled,Additional Superintendent of Police,Kharagpur,said the forces recovered rifle and landmine from the forest. The police think that the trio – Uttam Mahato and Mrinal Mahato – may have been involved in the murder of CPM men.
