2 die,4 injured in political violence

A Trinamool supporter and a Youth Congress leader were killed in two different incidents in South 24-Parganas on Friday.

A Trinamool supporter and a Youth Congress leader were killed in two different incidents in South 24-Parganas on Friday. Miscreants hurled bombs at three Trinamool supporters in Moujapara village in South 24-Parganas. While Sahabuddin Mollah was killed at the spot,his two brothers Aftab and Jalaluddin sustained injuries.

The body of Youth Congress leader Samsher Tarafdar was recovered from Dighipara village in Canning in South 24-Parganas. According to police,a group of miscerants fired at him from close range,when he came out of his house.

In another incident,two Trinamool supporters were shot at by miscreants in North 24-Parganas on Saturday. Miscreants opened fire at Harabilas Paik and Shamal Bhadra in Jogendranagar area,leaving them critically injured. Subsquently,Trinamool workers gheraoed and ransacked the Ghola police station and set a police jeep to fire. The police had to resort to a lathicharge to control the mob. Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee visited the spot and alleged that the police are hand in glove with the miscreants.

Subhas Chakraborty critical
The condition of state Transport Minister Subhas Chakraborty continues to be critical. He was admitted to a private hospital after being diagnosed with a chest infection three days ago. Doctors said his blood count has reduced and he was given blood.
