Gehlot nod to 50% concession to women in all state buses

As per the proposal, women/girls will be charged half the fare for travelling in all classes of RSRTC buses. At present women/girls get 50 per cent concession in ordinary class buses only.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday approved a proposal to give 50 per cent concession to women passengers in all categories of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) buses within the state limits.

As per the proposal, women/girls will be charged half the fare for travelling in all classes of RSRTC buses. At present women/girls get 50 per cent concession in ordinary class buses only.

In the 2023-24 budget, Gehlot had announced to increase the concession in ordinary roadways buses from 30 to 50 per cent. This announcement was implemented from April 1, 2023.

Subsequently on May 25 this year, at the inauguration ceremony of the new bus terminal at Sindhi Camp in Jaipur, the CM had announced that this concession will be implemented in all categories of roadways buses. This has now been approved.
