Telangana man dies in Florida, TDP chief seeks MEA help to bring back body

On July 1, a man from Telangana working in the US drowned in the sea while trying to save his son at Florida’s Jacksonville beach.

The family of the man, Potti Rajesh Kumar, 42, from Addanki in Andhra Pradesh’s Bapatla district, is awaiting the arrival of his body to perform the last rites.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu wrote to External Affair Minister S Jaishankar to help bring back body of the Telugu software engineer.

Rajesh, who lived in Florida’s Bridgewater, is survived by his wife and two children. He lost his life while saving his eldest son, 12, who is recovering.

Rajesh’s parents, extended family and in-laws are seeking help to bring his body back to Addanki as soon as possible. The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has also established contact with the family to help coordinate the transfer.
