Hindu kings, including Maharana Pratap, Pruthviraj Chauhan and Shivaji, were ignored from the history books during the Congress tenure in the country, Himmatnagar BJP MLA Vinendrasinh Zala alleged in the Gujarat assembly Thursday. The allegations came while moving a private member's resolution related to the National Education Policy, 2020 of the Central government. The resolution sought to ask the state government to take necessary steps for the effective implementation of the policy and various recommendations made in it in Gujarat. The resolution was passed by a majority vote even as Congress members present in the House opposed the same. Zala also spoke about the education system prevailing in India before the arrival of English. “During the Congress rule, no need was felt to praise Maharana Pratap, Pruthviraj Chauhan or Shivaji in the history books. They only talk about Mughals and that Akbar was good. They did not accept the Hindu kings," said Zala.
