In an FIR, a fish vendor and a resident of Sunder Nagri stated that one of his relatives was involved in a harassment case lodged at the police station. He said Sub Inspector Priyanka Saini, Sub-Inspector Sunil Dutt, Head Constable Anil Kumar along with another policeman asked him to hand over Rs 2 lakh to Saini to get the name of the accused removed.
The complainant stated in the FIR, “Saini told me if I wanted to settle this matter, the SHO has said that Rs 2 lakh needs to be paid… he (the accused) credited the money in my account…I withdrew it and gave it to Ms Saini…she told me that she will send me an agreement signed with the opposing party in the case…”
The FIR stated that the complainant was later told to accompany the accused personnel to the woman’s house to try and convince her to take back the case. “When the latter did not agree, she (Saini) said she will try to convince her again, promising that if she doesn’t agree, I will get my money back.” From June 13 to 20, the complainant stated, he tried to get in touch with Saini and others but to no avail. “They even threatened me when I asked for my money back,” he added in the FIR, lodged on April 9.
