Woman alleges Delhi hotel staff held her captive over pending bill

On December 31, the organisers paid Rs 25 lakh and said the account officer of the company will settle the final payment on January 1, she alleged. “On hearing this,  the staff kept me captive and three staff, including a woman, kept tailing me even while going to the washroom,” she alleged in the FIR.

DCP Mahla said, “The management threatened her that if she did not make the balance payment of Rs 20 lakh, they would not allow her to go outside the hotel.”

The woman said she approached the women’s helpline, after which police found her at the hotel at 12.10 am on January 1.

The case against unknown persons, lodged at IGI police station on April 11, has been filed under IPC section 354A, 341 and 509.

DCP  Mahla said that delay in filing FIR was caused as the woman had not filed a formal complaint.
