The Haryana Human Rights Commission has issued a bailable warrant against a Gurgaon district social welfare officer for failing to appear before it on several occasions, despite notices being issued to him.

Chairman of the commission Justice SK Mittal (retd) said action was taken as the officer failed to appear before the commission for updates on a case related to a Kheda Khurampur resident, Suresh.

The latter, who is disabled, had asked the social welfare department to provide him a tricycle. When they didn’t, he submitted a complaint to the commission on October 23, 2017. “… The officer had been asked to come before the commission on August 7, and November 1, but failed to do so. So, a bailable warrant is being issued against him,” said Mittal.
