Vidya Gets Her Mojo Back

In one of our interviews,Vidya shared that her confidence was damaged to the core when a columnist had fired a one-line salvo at her. “Someone wrote that I shouldn’t get out of my house,” Vidya confessed which had made her retreat and rethink her career choices. It was during this phase that she discovered her reset button and decided to chart her own path in the ‘Me too’ industry. That’s when she decided to turn into the go-to girl for all that was forbidden for her contemporaries. So when the other girls were getting page-one hits for being size zero and getting the bikini jitters,Vidya was out there sucking her co-star’s thumbs.

The Cannes invitation is like a body blow to the fashion police who love to hate Vidya in all her Kanjivarams,Chanderis and Banarasis avatars. Sure,the claws will be out at the Cannes Red Carpet too. Bet Vidya and her favourite designer Sabyasachi are geared up for the dissection but heck,it must be quite a kick for the girl who was written off.

You can never keep a good girl down. Take for instance Konkona Sen Sharma who stuns with her scary,spooky and oh-so-deliciously-devilish Stepmom act in Ek Thi Daayan. The Kannan Iyer film gives all its actors the space to perform but it’s Konkona who owns the movie. Clearly,she had a ball playing Diana because it comes across. The little girl in the movie — Sara Arjun — who plays Misha is quite adorable. After all,its all about having fun. That’ll be my advice to Vidya too. Go to the Riviera,watch movies,live it up and let the naysayers be.
