On December 2, around 5,000 farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar and various parts of western UP marched to Delhi, following an eight-day protest at the Delhi-Noida border against the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida), the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA), and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on the land acquisitions made for the development of several residential and commercial areas.

However, the protest march was halted at Dalit Prerna Sthal after an agreement was reached between the authorities and the farmers.
