Two rapes reported from city

“The autorickshaw driver allegedly then dropped her home and threatened her not to tell anybody about the incident. She told some relatives two days later and they encouraged her to go to the police,” a senior police officer said.

At the police station on Tuesday,March 31,she claimed she was scared about approaching the police. The police took her for a medical examination,after which a case of rape was registered. The police claimed they have identified some suspects and they will be arrested soon.

In another incident,a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in New Ashok Nagar. The police said Ram Kumar (19) had kidnapped her before raping her.

He was traced to a jhuggi in Sultanpuri,from where the girl was recovered. A medical examination confirmed rape and Kumar has been arrested.

Boy’s body found

A five-year-old boy was found dead in the Okhla area of Southeast Delhi on Thursday. The police said the boy’s body was discovered by bystanders abandoned in a ‘basmati’ sack at Pul Prehladpur around 6.30 am.

“People noticed a leg sticking out of the bag and immediately called the police,who transferred the body to the AIIMS Mortuary. We are yet to identify the boy,” a senior police officer said. The police said there were injury marks on the boy’s genitalia indicating a possible case of sodomy. They suspect he was smothered to death.

Police officers called a family based in Lal Quan in Old Delhi,who had reported a boy with a similar description missing two days ago. Till late on Thursday,the family had not confirmed whether the boy was related to them.
