Transperson stabbed to death in East Delhi, partner among 2 held
According to the police, Rehan’s demands to extort money from the transperson, caused the victim to distance themself from the accused, which eventually led to the murder

Twelve hours after allegedly murdering a transperson in East Delhi’s Madhu Vihar area, the police on early Tuesday arrested two men, including the victim’s live-in partner in the case. One of the accused, identified Rehan alias Ikka (19), was in a live-in relationship with the victim for the past four months, police said.
According to the police, Rehan’s demands to extort money from the transperson, caused the victim to distance themself from the accused, which eventually led to the murder.
The accused allegedly murdered the transperson by stabbing them with knives near the Telco T-point, along the drain on Monday afternoon, police said.
Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Crime Branch said, “The accused has been identified as Rehan alias Ikka (19) and Mohammad Sarver (20)”.
“During questioning, Rehan told the police that the deceased Karan alias Annu had been in a live-in relationship for the past four months. The duo had a dispute owing to Rehan’s persistent extortion demand from the victim. As the victim began to distance themself, Rehan perceived it as betrayal. Enraged and possessive, Rehan conspired with his associate Sarver to murder the victim,” Singh added.
To trace the suspect, police said, they carried out raids in Trans-Yamuna, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. However, upon receiving specific information, the police team reached the Laxmi Nagar Metro Station area at midnight and carried out surveillance. Post midnight, two suspects matching the given description arrived on foot and stood under the flyover, appearing to wait for someone. Soon after, the accused were nabbed.
“Once their identity was confirmed by the informer, the suspects were arrested by 1 am on Tuesday,” the DCP added.
