Traffic crawls on Gurgaon expressway

Though the Sirhaul toll plaza has been done away with, traffic continued to crawl on Gurgaon Expressway on Friday. “Traffic was moving, although slowly. There are issues. We are trying to study the situation,” Addl CP (Traffic, Delhi Police) Anil Shukla said.

“The road becomes very narrow after the toll plaza, hence, there were jams as on entered Delhi, especially during rush hours,” a police officer said.

“The route from airport to Munirka via RTR flyover was made a one-way from 3 pm to 8 pm, to handle the rush. Two-way traffic was restored when the vehicles from Munirka piling up,” the officer said.

The stretch from the toll plaza to IFFCO Chowk was relatively less crowded. “I have not received any information of congestion, so all seems to be fine,” JCP (Traffic, Gurgaon Police) Bharti Arora said.
