A 34-year-old Haryana-based businessman was arrested on the charge of molesting a woman in the banquet hall of a five-star hotel in New Delhis Chanakyapuri area on Sunday night.
The victim had reportedly gone to attend a friends marriage when the incident took place.
According to the police,the accused,identified as Samay Kumar,a native of Rohtak,who runs a real estate business,entered the marriage venue. Under the influence of alcohol he molested the victim,police said.
The victim alleged that he forced himself on her. She screamed and raised an alarm. The security personnel of the hotel rushed to her aid and also made a PCR call, police said.
Based on the victims statement a case has been registered against him under Section 354 (assault with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code at Chanakyapuri police station.
In a separate incident,a 12-year-old girl was raped by two relatives in North Delhis Burrari area. An accused has been arrested.
