Three-year-old boy run over by Maruti van twice

A Three-Year-Old boy was crushed to death by a speeding Maruti van,while he was playing outside his house in East Delhi,on Tuesday evening.

A Three-Year-Old boy was crushed to death by a speeding Maruti van,while he was playing outside his house in East Delhi,on Tuesday evening. Police have arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.

The child,identified as Kishan,was playing outside his house in J J Indra Camp,near Karkardooma court,when the incident occurred around 5.30 pm. The driver,Mohammad Kamil,is a resident of Krishna Nagar. He was in the transport business. A case has been registered against him, a police officer said.

Eyewitnesses said the van ran over Kishan twice,causing excessive blood loss. When the driver first ran over Kishan,passersby yelled at him to stop. Hearing them,the driver stopped and reversed the vehicle crushing the child again, said Rajesh,a resident.

The boy was rushed to Hedgewar Hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival.

Kishans father,Suresh,works as a daily wage labourer. His mother,Ramsri,said that though they were poor,they had never compromised on their childrens needs.

We had children more than 12 years after our marriage.

We both worked hard to raise them. We gave up even our basic needs to educate and take proper care of them. But now,God has taken away my youngest child, she said.
