Three kidnappers arrested,five-year-old child rescued

Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) D C Srivastava said,“After a complaint was made,a technical surveillance was mounted. The voice of the caller was identified as that of an acquaintance of the family. It was strongly suspected that one Kasim,who worked with the uncle of the child,might be involved.”

Kasim’s mobile phone was switched off and he was not at home,Srivastava said.

Police found that the ransom calls were made from different PCOs near Filmistan cinema. The complainant was also asked to take the money to the location. A policeman,posing as auto-rickshaw driver,went with the complainant.

“They waited at Filmistan till morning,but no one came to collect the ransom amount. The next day the caller again asked the complainant to come to Filmistan cinema with the money. It was then that the accused were nabbed,” Srivastava said.

Questioning revealed that Mohd Kasim was the mastermind of the plan. Kasim used to work for the child’s uncle,but had quit his job three months ago.

“He came to know that the child’s father was planning to land in Faridabad,and hence planned to kidnap the child. He had lured the child on the pretext of buying him an ice cream,” Srivastava said.

A case has been registered.
