Three held for drug smuggling

Three persons were arrested on the charge of smuggling contraband.

Three persons were arrested on the charge of smuggling contraband abroad through courier services.

The incident was reported when an official from a courier agency at Rajendra Place informed police about a woman called Pooja Ray,who regularly sent couriers to Holland,Australia and Liberia. Police said they had recovered around 940 g cocaine and methaqualone.

The courier official told police that one of Poojas parcels got delayed last week. The woman made repeated enquiries and displayed extreme anxiety over the delay,making the official suspicious, SBS Tyagi,DCP (New Delhi),said.

Police found that the address mentioned by the woman was false. They traced the woman to Tilak Nagar in West Delhi. Three persons Tshering Choezom (30),Isika Collins (27) and Omenoys Favor (27) were arrested, an officer said.
