RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav at the CBI office in New Delhi, Saturday. Amit MehraBihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday appeared before CBI officials in connection with the alleged railways land-for-jobs scam, while his sister Misa Bharti appeared before Enforcement Directorate officials in the money laundering case linked to the alleged scam. The questioning of both brother and sister is still on.
Tejashwi joined the investigation at around 10.30 am, days after the CBI told the Delhi High Court that it would not arrest him. He was escorted to the investigation team after completing the required formalities upon his arrival at the CBI headquarters.
In May last year, the CBI had booked former railways minister Lalu Prasad and his family members in a fresh case of corruption. It had named 16 people, including Lalu, his wife Rabri Devi and daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav as accused in the case. According to the CBI, at least eight people were given Group D jobs in the railways in lieu of plots of land when Lalu was the railway minister in the UPA-1 government at the Centre ( 2004-09).
