Tata Power ranked among top 10 in Smart Grid Index 2024

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL), which supplies electricity to the north and northwest parts of the Capital, has been ranked among the top 10 power utilities globally in the Smart Grid Index 2024.

“The 2024 Smart Grid exercise evaluated 92 utilities across 36 countries or markets recognising global best practices in Smart Grid Deployment. The recognition reflects the company’s commitment to driving the future of India’s power distribution sector,” read an official statement issued by the power company.

“In the evaluation process, Tata Power-DDL achieved an impressive score of 83.9%…Tata Power through is discoms in Delhi, Odisha, Ajmer and Mumbai is serving 12.5 million consumers (over 5 crore),” it added.

The Smart Grid Index (SGI), developed by Singapore Power Group (SP Group), defines itself as a “simple and quantifiable framework that evaluates

the smartness” of power grids globally.
