Aneeth Aroras tea party on Saturday night was a sweet affair. It began with pouches of M&Ms with her label Pero printed on them lying on the seats before the show, and ended with a few lucky first row guests getting a slice of the Red Velvet Cake from Elmas Bakery. White and pink defined her collection and the Mary Poppins-like creations on the ramp, complete with gloves and socks and hats, added to the very girly charm of the show. The M&Ms were such a hit that we caught a few picking up more than a pouch, while others were guilty of tweeting pictures of the sweet nothings. Its this obsession with the minutest details that set Arora apart, and while this show was sweet (literally),it sorely lacked punch. Aroras boho-chic,layered ensembles need a fair amount of reinvention,to not give in to a repetitive look. Theyre cute and sweet, but they leave you with a familiar aftertaste.
