Supreme Court is looking for Court masters

The Supreme Court is looking for 31 Court Masters (shorthand), 33 senior personal assistants and 43 personal assistants.

Court Masters will be paid a salary of Rs 67,700 per month. Senior Personal Assistants and Personal Assistants will get Rs 47,600 and Rs 44,900 per month respectively.

Court Masters carry out a number of assignments every day to make sure that the court functions smoothly. One such task is to check whether judicial papers are proper. Another is instructing other courtroom employees.

They must also possess a speed of (shorthand) writing at least 120 words in English per minute.

The aspirants must also have a typing speed of 40 words per minute on computers. On top of this, they must have a law degree and a minimum of five year experience as a private secretary, senior personal assistant or senior stenographer in the public sector.

To become a Court Master, the candidates have to pass a typing test on the computer at the speed of 40 words per minute, a shorthand English test at the speed of 120 words per minute, and an objective type test with 100 questions – Objective Type Question Paper with multiple choice answers containing 100 questions – 50 General English questions, 15 General Aptitude questions, 25 questions relating to Knowledge in Law and 10 General Knowledge questions. They also need to score at least 15 out of 30 marks in the interview to bag the post. The candidates will get 45 minutes to transcribe and are allowed a “maximum mistakes” of 5 percent of the total words dictated during the exam.

Anyone aged 30 to 45 years can apply for the post.
