Six held for cheating in SSC exam

Six candidates who appeared in a Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination held on September 29 for recruitment to the CBI.

Six candidates who appeared in a Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination held on September 29 for recruitment to the CBI,Income Tax and Excise departments were arrested on the charge of cheating.

Addl CP (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said the men — Hemant Maan (24),Sunil Kumar (25),Arvind Kumar (24),Virender Singh (24),Yogender (31),and Shailender Pratap (25) — were arrested from four different centres in Delhi and UP.

The combined graduate level (tier-II) SSC examination was conducted for the recruitment of Income Tax inspectors,excise inspectors and sub-inspectors in the CBI.

“Most of the men are from Delhi and adjacent areas. They have been remanded in police custody for 10 days,” Yadav said.

Police said large sums of money were exchanged to ensure that the paper was leaked.
