This time of the year is a latent period for many galleries. But Nature Morte,Gurgaon,is buzzing with works of artists such as Dayanita Singh and Gauri Gill in an exhibition titled The Nerves Under Your Skin,on till July 1. The 22 works on display include Singhs 2009 body of work,Blue Book,and other 2010 photographs; Ravinder Reddys untitled fibreglass figure of a gold-painted woman holding her hair; and Gauri Gills 2010 Balika Mela portraits.
Sands of Time
Popular Pakistani band Raeth,that merged an eastern melody with heavy guitar riffs in their debut single Bhula do some years ago,is set to make its Bollywood debut. Slimmer by two members,Raeth now has Wajhi Farouqui on vocals and Hassan Farabi on guitars. These days,the band is busy composing for director Rakesh Ranjan Kumars upcoming film,Marksheet,which is about education scams in India. The bands song will be shot inside Delhi University,after which they will tour various colleges in India.
Rumours,a Zoo & Laughter
Imagine arriving for a party and finding out that the host has shot himself,the hostess is missing and there are no servants. Neil Simons Rumours has run to packed theatres since it premiered in the US in 1988. Now,Delhi-based Atelier Theatre Repertory Company presents its Hindi adaptation,Khusar Phusar. This is among the three plays that Atelier will stage from June 1 to 3 at LTG auditorium. The others are The Zoo Story and Laughter on the 23rd Floor. All plays have been directed by Kuljeet Singh. While the former is about two men who meet at Delhis Central Park,the latter is inspired by Simons experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesars Your Show of Shows.
