The rains might have ditched Delhi this year but to keep the spirit alive,Submerge is bringing the Monsoon Project to the city. The day-long electronica-techno-trance festival debuts in the Capital with three international artistes — Gina Star from the US,Ali Wilson and Paul Thomas from the UK — along with a number of supporting acts by local musicians. The festival,in its third year,will take place at Olive Qutab on Sunday,and has already created a splash in Pune,Bengaluru,Mumbai,Chennai and Goa. “We wanted to invite artistes who are on the threshold of breaking through into the big league with their music,as well as those who have a fine record of being skillful DJs who can ‘deliver’ a night,” says Nikhil Chinapa,Submerge founder. The entry ticket for the event is priced at Rs 2,000.

Santana to Perform in India

This year seems to be perfect for music connoisseurs across India,with a number of internationally acclaimed musicians performing in various parts of the country,from pop icon Enrique Iglesias,electronica trio Swedish House Mafia to metalheads Slayer and Megadeth. It’s time to add another icon to this list — guitar god Carlos Santana will perform in Bengaluru on October 26,as part of Rock ‘N India Festival. The 65-year-old Mexican-American rock guitarist,best known for tracks such as Black Magic Woman,Maria Maria,and Rockstar with band Nickelback,has 10 Grammys to his credit.With some of the best guitar solos in the music industry,this gig will be a real treat for music revelers. The tickets are priced at Rs 2,750.
