Second Gang Busted in 5 months: 4 held in Noida for extorting people using gay-dating app
According to the police, the gang has been active for the last one year and duped 20 to 25 people

The Greater Noida police on Monday said they have arrested four persons, aged between 20 and 23, for allegedly extorting money from people by using gay-dating app Grindr.
“Of the four arrested, three — Daksh alias Captain, Bhupendra alias Bhuppi, and Honey — are residents of Dadri, whereas Jai Raghav is a resident of Bulandshahr,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Noida, Sudhir Kumar.
“During interrogation, they told us that they worked as a gang, created profiles on the dating app, and connected with the victims, whom they convinced to meet. When the victims would come to meet, the accused used to threaten them and extort money,” the Additional Deputy Commissioner added.
According to the police, the gang has been active for the last one year and duped 20 to 25 people.
“The problem is that the victims have societal fear. So, they do not come forward to report such incidents, and the accused get away. These people took advantage of the people not reporting the incident,”
added Kumar.
In January, the Greater Noida police had arrested four men who allegedly trapped people through Grindr to extort money.
