RD Rajpal hosts inter-school soccer tournament

RD Rajpal School organised a soccer tournament from December 12 to December 17. Thirty-one schools participated from all over Delhi with schools coming as far as from Pusa Road,Gurgaon,Punjabi Bagh,Rohini,Lodhi Road,Vasant Vihar,Safdarjung etc. Sixteen schools were from Dwarka. The matches were really a treat to sports lovers. The inaugural function of the tournament was held on December 12,2011,with much fanfare. It was organised under the able guidance of Chairman-Ishwer Rajpal,President Subhash Rajpal and Principal Alka Kshatriya of RD Rajpal School. The initial match was played between Mt Carmel School,Dwarka,and Paramount School,Dwarka. It was a great kickstart to the tournament. Through the event,one could witness thrilling and breath-holding matches. The footballers displayed true sportsmanship and exhibited excellent performance. The students of RD Rajpal School benefitted a lot by witnessing such challenging matches. There were exciting and action packed matches throughout the tournament. The first semi-final match was held between Mt Carmel School,Dwarka,and Scottish High School,Gurgaon. It was won by Scottish High School with magnificent scores of 2-1. The second semi-final match was held between Air Force Bal Bharati School,Lodhi Road,and CRPF Public School,Dwarka. This match was won by Air Force Bal Bharati,Lodhi Road,with a score of 3-0. The champion of RD Rajpal Soccer Challenger Tournament was Air Force Bal Bharati School,thus gaining the gold medal. The silver medal was bagged by the Scottish High School,Gurgaon. The bronze medal was won by CRPF Public School,Dwarka,with a score of 3-1.

Participants in Camel Colour Contest move a step ahead

Today the selected entries for the All India Camel Colour Contest were judged for regional level at Delhi 1. The panel of judges,comprising S Karmakar from Bal Bharati Public School,Ganga Ram Hospital Marg,New Delhi, and Seema Pandey of Ramjas School,Pusa Road,New Delhi,performed the herculean task of selecting 75 winners from 4,480 school-level prize winners out of 2,27,818 participants from 275 schools. The All India Camel Contest-2011,running for the last 38 years,is one of the most important events for Indian schools. This contest had received 30 lakh participants from more than 4,700 schools in 2010. As per the organisers,Kokuyo Camlin Ltd,this year approximately 50 lakh students from 7,000 schools participated in this contest. This Indian endeavour is the largest art event of the world and is likely to win one more Guinness World Record for India. Judging was held at the Ramjas School,Pusa Road,where the company officials of the company helped the jury select 75 regional level winners,who would get medals and certificates as prizes. All the selected entries will now be included in the National-level judging scheduled for December 8,2011,in Mumbai. DL DAV Model School,BN Block,Shalimar Bagh,has won the trophy for best performance at the regional level.

Annual Winter Carnival at Bal Bharati Public School

The Bal Bharati Public School,GRH Marg,organized its Annual Winter Carnival on December 18,2011. It was a day of leisure,coupled with pleasure. A sea of parents and children thronged the grounds for a potpourri of exciting games,lucky draws,delicious food and mind blowing music. There was fun and frolic all around. There were exciting game stalls including Lucky Seven,Ring the Duck,Wheel of Fortune,etc,and a rich variety of mouth-watering food items. Colourful cloth material,dazzling jewellery,interesting educational books and stationery items,etc,were all available. The financial queries of the visitors were being amicably answered by personnel at the LIC and other bank stalls,while members of ISKCON provided spiritual guidance to all who visited them. The Interact Club stall showcased various items such as candles,diyas and colorful envelopes etc,prepared by Prateek,an Institute for children with special needs. The institute is a unit of Anudan Society,a non-profit secular organisation that provides care and ensures self-sufficiency in children with special needs. On the occasion,the school also donated a sum of Rs 11,000 — collected by the club members — to the society. In addition,leaflets to create awareness about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and its management were also distributed. Another significant feature of the carnival was that that 10 out of the 70 prize- winning slogans written by our students on the occasion of World Food Day were displayed on colourful scrolls with remarkable illustrations made by the students of the Art department. This was an initiative to sensitize people to avoid unnecessary wastage of food. The activities also included Baby Show sponsored by Shalaka’s Olemessa Oil and Bingo organized by the school’s alumni.
