In that time,Goel scored a brilliant century — 129 runs, with 15 fours and one six — to lead RRG to 270/7 in 40 overs and his side into the last four of the tournament.

RRG skipper Deepak Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first before his side was rocked by Sunny Sehrawat’s consistent bowling (4/46). But Goel stitched up a 102-run stand for the third wicket with Mohit Sharma. A late onslaught by the skipper helped the side post a commanding total.

In reply Karan Harit (60) played a captain’s knock and Milind Kumar (81) offered some resistance.
